Bellafill® Injections in Parkland, FL

Your Skin Health & The Aging Process

Bellafill Injections Parkland, FL

Skin aging is an inevitable process that occurs as internal and external factors take a toll on the health of your skin. Collagen is a natural type of protein that makes up 80% of your skin and promotes plumpness, elasticity and an overall youthful appearance. Collagen production declines with age, contributing to thinner and dryer skin, saggy skin, as well as the development of wrinkles. Sun damage and smoking are also external factors that contribute to the deterioration of collagen in the skin.

While aging of the skin and a decline in collagen is a normal part of life, there are ways to support the production of collagen in order to keep the skin looking healthy and youthful. Bellafill is a unique injectable blend that helps soften and smooth out the skin by supporting your skin's own ability to produce collagen. Unlike other injectable fillers used for wrinkles, Bellafill promotes results for up to 5 years. Bellafill also helps reduce the appearance of acne scars.

If you want to reduce the appearance of smile lines or acne scars, schedule a consultation with a healthcare provider in Parkland who specializes in Bellafill injections. Call (954) 248-3611 or contact Genesis Health Institute online.

Bellafill® for Skin Wrinkles

Bellafill dermal filler injections are unique in that they provide both immediate and long-term results. The injection consists of (20%) polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) microspheres and (80%) bovine collagen gel. The collagen gel provides immediate volume to smooth out lines and diminish the appearance of wrinkles. For long-lasting results, the PMMA microspheres produce a matrix that increases the skin's ability to produce its own collagen.

In a 12 month U.S. clinical trial, which included over 250 patients, the effectiveness and safety of Bellafill injections for smile lines were evaluated and compared to other collagen treatments. At the six month and one year evaluation points, the correction of smile lines remained, while the results in the collagen-only treatment group had returned to pre-treatment status.

Bellafill is FDA-approved for the correction of nasolabial folds or 'smile lines.'

Bellafill® for Acne Scars

Acne is the most common skin disorder and affects up to 50 million Americans. Long after acne has been resolved, the scars often remain, leaving behind an unsmooth appearance to the skin. Acne also affects one's self-confidence and can be a major cause of anxiety for patients with significant levels of acne and scarring.

Fortunately, acne scars are now treatable with Bellafill injections. Unlike laser treatments which require numerous procedures to diminish the appearance of acne scars, Bellafill for acne scars provides immediate results. Bellafill's unique blend provides the skin with an immediate lift, resulting in a smooth appearance that blends in with the surrounding skin.

In a clinical trial, the use of Bellafill for acne scars was evaluated and compared to a control (non-treatment) group. In this trial, a positive response was defined as a subject who demonstrated an improvement of 50% or more of acne scars by two or more points according to a four-point Acne Scar Rating Scale (ASRS). This study showed a positive response rate of 64% in the Bellafill treatment group vs. 33% for the control group.

Bellafill has been approved by the FDA for the treatment of moderate to severe facial acne scars on the cheeks of patients over the age of 21. Bellafill acne scar treatment has been shown to be effective for up to 12 months.

What to Expect During Your Bellafill® Injections

Prior to treatment, your healthcare provider may perform a skin test to assess whether allergy to bovine collagen is present. Bellafill injections are a quick in- office procedure which usually require between 15-20 minutes. Some people may require more than one treatment visit for Bellafill injections in order reach the desired level of correction on their skin. This will vary depending on the extent of the facial wrinkles or acne scarring.

During the in-office procedure, Bellafill is injected with a thin needle beneath the area of the wrinkles or scars. Bellafill includes lidocaine, a local anesthetic, to reduce the discomfort that is associated with injections. The collagen gel provides an immediate lift and smoothing to the area where wrinkles or scars are present. The PMMA microspheres, which are not absorbed by the body, remain in the area of injection providing a permanent collagen-boosting structure to the area.

The injected bovine collagen is absorbed by the body during the first few weeks. As newly regenerated collagen replaces it from the PMMA microspheres, a natural collagen-replenishment process occurs, providing long-lasting results.

Bellafill injections require little to no downtime. Although rare, side effects may include temporary swelling, redness, pain, bruising, lumps, bumps or itching at the treatment site. These side effects typically resolve within 1-7 days.

If you are concerned about the appearance of facial wrinkles, nasolabial lines or acne scars you should consider Bellafill injections.
