What are some side effects of laser skin resurfacing?
Some common side effects include the following:

Redness, itching, or scabbing.
Following the procedure, it is advised to clean the treated area four to five times a day. To prevent scabs from forming, apply an ointment (like petroleum jelly) to the skin that was treated.
You are likely to feel some itching a few days after the procedure, followed by your skin becoming dry and peeling a week later. This is normal.
You may also notice some continual redness several weeks or months after the procedure. This is also normal. -
Swelling.
You may experience some common swelling the first day or two after the treatment.
