Vampire Facelift Procedure in Fort Lauderdale, FL

Vampire Facelift Procedure in Fort Lauderdale, FL

The Vampire Facelift is a non-surgical procedure designed to improve the texture, elasticity, volume, and tone of your facial skin. It can be an effective way to improve severe wrinkles and folds such as:

  • Tear troughs
  • Smile lines
  • Marionette lines
  • Diminished cheek volume
  • Wrinkled lip borders

Unlike other facial rejuvenation methods that make use of toxins, the Vampire Facelift uses two naturally occurring ingredients. The first is hyaluronic acid which is a chemical normally found within the skin. This is injected as dermal filler which produces immediate plumpness to smooth out deep wrinkles and folds.

The second ingredient of the Vampire Facelift lends the treatment its unconventional name. Platelet-rich plasmas (PRP) collected from your own blood are also injected into the skin where they begin to replenish your stores of collagen. This additional step extends the results of the Vampire Facelift up to twelve months.

Why do Wrinkles Happen?

There are two components that are most directly responsible for the volume and elasticity of our skin when we are young: hyaluronic acid and collagen. Over time, our natural supplies of these two elements begin to diminish, leaving wrinkles, folds, and sagging skin in their place.

How Does a Vampire Facelift Work?

A Vampire Facelift involves two different injections. The first is a fresh supply of hyaluronic acid in the form of a dermal filler that immediately smoothes away wrinkles. The next injection is filled with platelet rich plasma cells that are separated from the patient's own blood. Over time, these cells stimulate the natural growth of collagen in your skin, creating a long-lasting youthful appearance.

The Vampire Facelift Process

Following an initial consultation, the injection site will be treated with a topical anesthetic. While this area is numbing, blood will be drawn from your arm. The collected sample will then be placed in a spinning device known as a centrifuge that separates out the platelet rich plasma.

The hyaluronic acid based dermal filler will be injected first while the blood is being prepared. The platelet rich plasma injection will then follow.

Treatments are usually completed in under an hour. Because most of what's being injected comes from your own body, Vampire Facelifts pose a minimal risk and low side-effects. Patients may experience some redness, discomfort, swelling, tenderness, bruising, and lumps, but these symptoms usually go away within a couple of days. Your consultant may advise you to avoid excessive sunlight (it is, after all, the "Vampire" facelift) and exercise for a few days after the treatment.
